The development of the seaweed industry requires accurate data

The Potential Fisheries Commodity Survey Training (Seaweed) or SKPP-RL.21 was conducted at the Faawaz Hotel. This training was conducted in 2 batches, namely batch 1 held on March 30 - April 1 followed by 18 participants and Wave 2 held on April 2-4, 2021 which was attended by 18 participants.

SKPP-RL.21 is an activity that is in line with the 2020-2024 RPJMN where the government will improve the management of aquaculture commodities, one of which is seaweed. In the development of the seaweed industry, accurate data is needed. however, upstream-downstream seaweed information data is not currently synergistic, so it is necessary to improve data and information. It is hoped that with a survey of potential fisheries commodities in 2021, seaweed commodities will be able to answer these big challenges.

Seaweed production data is very strategic data and it is the responsibility of BPS for collection, it needs high accuracy so as to produce quality data, because many observers of seaweed commodities have comparative data.

It is hoped that improvements in data and methods of collecting data on seaweed cultivation products as industrial raw material needs need to be done so that the resulting data is useful for planning the development of the seaweed industry, with the hope that it can improve the welfare of the marine and fisheries community.
