Rusli Moidady, ST, MT., Regional Secretary of Banggai Islands Regency representing the Regent of Banggai Islands Regency, opened a coaching event for the 2021 Consumer Price Survey (SHK) monthly officer briefing, Monday (14/6) in the Meeting Room of the Banggai Islands Regent's Office.
In his remarks, Rusli appreciated the response of BPS of Banggai Islands Regency for this good intention to work together in knowing and monitoring the development of prices for consumption goods and services in Banggai Islands Regency, especially in Salakan, in order to obtain inflation figures as an economic measure for Banggai Islands Regency. Rusli also advised all training participants to really listen and understand the material given because the resulting data will be used as an evaluation and guideline for the development program of the Banggai Islands Regency Government.
As is well known, the inflation rate resulting from the calculation of changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) through the SHK is one of the strategic indicators that can be used by local governments as a basis for regional development, especially in monitoring prices at the consumer level. A stable inflation rate is one of the requirements to create sustainable economic growth in a region.
This series of activities was also attended by Ir. Sutrisno S. Abusungut M.Sc., as the Coordinator of the Distribution Statistics Function of BPS Central Sulawesi Province representing the Head of BPS Central Sulawesi Province and Indra Prasetyo Wibowo S.ST., MPWP, as Sub-Coordinator of the Consumer Price Statistics Function and Wholesale Prices of BPS Central Sulawesi Province as Training Instructor.
Sutrisno stated that he was very happy with the initiative from the Regional Government of the Banggai Islands Regency for the Economy to start calculating the inflation rate in Banggai Islands Regency, especially in Salakan. As so far, the calculation of the inflation rate has only been carried out in 90 regencies/cities consisting of 34 provincial capitals and 56 regencies including Palu City and Luwuk Regency using APBN funds through BPS. This activity was also continued with training for SHK officers consisting of 1 staff from the Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) and 9 staff from the Economic Section of Banggai Islands Regency, Tuesday (15/6). In addition, BPS employees of Banggai Islands Regency themselves also participated as training participants, namely Munardin S.Si., as Field Coordinator, and Nur Auliah SST., Sitti Rahmawati, S.Tr.Stat., and Fajrianto Manungki SST as Supervisor in this SHK data collection.
Indra, who guided the training, told officers to actually collect data according to the standards carried out by BPS in order to maintain good data quality. BPS also hopes that with the start of this collaboration in calculating the inflation rate, it can be an additional material for a better development plan for the Banggai Islands Regency. (Rahma)
